Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc has announced the appointment of Mrs. Amina Maina as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective October 16, 2025.
The appointment, disclosed in a notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Wednesday, 29 Oct, 2025, is subject to ratification at the company’s next Annual General Meeting (AGM).
According to the statement, Mrs. Maina’s inclusion on the board highlights Okomu Oil’s commitment to strengthening governance depth, enhancing strategic oversight, and aligning with global best practices in board diversity and corporate leadership.
The Company Secretary, Chukwuebuka Omerole of P.C. Obi & Co., said the board looks forward to leveraging her vast experience to support the company’s long-term strategy, performance goals, and sustainability journey.

Profile of Mrs. Amina Maina
Mrs. Maina brings over 20 years of executive leadership experience across the energy, trading, and investment sectors. She is widely recognized for her operational discipline, strategic vision, and advocacy for sustainable business growth in Africa.
She currently serves as Chair of the Eyrie Group and previously held senior positions at MRS Holdings Limited, including Group Chief Operating Officer and Group Executive Director. Her career also spans notable roles at Ovlas Trading SA, Aurora Energy Trading Ltd, and Energy Solutions Integrated Services Ltd, highlighting her influence in international commerce and Africa’s energy value chain.
An alumna of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where she earned a B.Sc. in Business Administration, Mrs. Maina has completed executive programs at Harvard Business School and INSEAD Business School, focusing on global management and competitive strategy.
Beyond her corporate achievements, Mrs. Maina has been a key contributor to Nigeria’s economic advancement. She currently serves as a member of the Presidential Economic Coordination Council (PECC) and the Governing Council of the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund.
She also chairs Next Gen Infraco Limited, driving the country’s digital infrastructure growth, and sits on the boards of MRS Benin and First Mutual Microfinance Bank.
Her professional affiliations include Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) and the Energy Institute (EI), as well as membership in the Institute of Directors (IoD) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
A champion for gender inclusion, Mrs. Maina is a founding member of the Women in Energy Network (WIEN), where she continues to advocate for the advancement of women in leadership across the energy industry.
