Copyright Policy

StakeBridge Media respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022. This Copyright Policy outlines how we handle copyright-protected content on our Platform and address infringement claims.

  1. Copyright Ownership
  • Platform Content: All content created by StakeBridge Media (e.g., articles, images, videos) is protected by copyright under the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution is prohibited.
  • User-Generated Content: Users retain copyright to their submitted content but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute it on the Platform.
  1. Copyright Infringement

Posting or sharing copyrighted material without permission violates the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022 and may lead to legal consequences, including damages or injunctions. Users must ensure they have the right to share content on the Platform.

  1. Fair Dealing

The Nigerian Copyright Act 2022 allows limited use of copyrighted material for purposes such as criticism, review, news reporting, or research, provided it meets fair dealing criteria (e.g., purpose, amount used, market impact). Users relying on fair dealing must comply with these standards.

  1. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed on our Platform, submit a written notice to our Copyright Agent, including:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work.
  • Identification of the infringing material and its location on the Platform.
  • Your contact information.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you are the copyright owner or authorized representative.
  • Your signature (physical or electronic).

Send notices to:

  • Mailing Address: S11B, 2nd Floor, Alibro Atrium Plaza, 32, Ekukinam Street, Utako, Abuja, Nigeria.

We will investigate and, if appropriate, remove or disable access to the infringing content, per the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022.

  1. Counter-Notifications

If your content is removed due to a copyright complaint and you believe it was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification with:

  • Identification of the removed content and its location.
  • Your contact information.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that the content was removed in error.
  • Your consent to the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
  • Your signature.

We will forward the counter-notification to the complainant and may restore the content if no legal action is taken within 10 business days.

  1. Repeat Infringers

We may terminate accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyrights, in accordance with the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022.

  1. Technological Protection Measures

We use technological protection measures (TPMs) to safeguard digital content, as required by the WIPO Copyright Treaty and the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022. Circumventing these measures is prohibited.
