The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, recently convened a high-level meeting in Abuja with officials of the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, oil marketers, and airline operators following a reported surge in Jet A1 fuel prices from about N900 to N3,300 per litre within weeks. The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) warned of a potential nationwide shutdown, alleging \u201castronomical and unsustainable\u201d pricing inconsistent with global oil trends and attributing the spike to \u201cartificial pricing\u201d by marketers, prompting urgent federal government intervention to stabilise aviation operations and prevent service disruption.<\/p>\n
