FCMB Group Plc has fixed June 30, 2026, as the payment date for a final dividend of 35 kobo per ordinary share, subject to shareholder approval at its Annual General Meeting (AGM). The announcement follows the group’s 2025 financial year performance, which recorded significant growth in profitability and earnings. According to the company, shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members by June 15, 2026, and who have completed the electronic dividend registration process will qualify for payment.<\/p>\n

The proposed distribution amounts to N23.08 billion and will be considered at the company’s virtual AGM scheduled for June 30, 2026.<\/p>\n

Profit before tax rose to N202.100 billion in 2025 from N111.895 billion in 2024, while profit after tax increased to N177.271 billion from N73.337 billion. Gross earnings crossed the N1 trillion threshold for the first time, reaching N1.132 trillion.<\/p>\n

Equally noteworthy is the composition of the earnings growth. Interest income expanded to N1.01 trillion, accounting for the overwhelming majority of gross earnings and highlighting the benefits of a high-interest-rate environment for banking institutions with strong asset deployment capabilities.<\/p>\n

The dividend proposal therefore appears to reflect not only historical performance but also management’s confidence in the durability of core earnings.<\/p>\n

First-quarter 2026 results further support that interpretation. Profit before tax rose by 148.39 percent year-on-year to N86.987 billion, while profit after tax increased to N76.527 billion. The continuation of earnings momentum into the new financial year strengthens the rationale for shareholder distribution.<\/p>\n
