About Us

Who We Are

StakeBridge Media is a specialist business and economic media platform focused on the developments, decisions and forces shaping Nigeria’s economy, businesses, markets, investments and society.

We provide journalism for readers who want more than the headline. Our reporting combines facts, data, context and analysis to explain what is happening, why it matters and what it could mean for businesses, investors, policymakers and the wider public.

Nigeria does not suffer from a lack of information. It suffers from a lack of clarity.

StakeBridge Media exists to close that gap.

We cover the economy, financial and capital markets, business, investments, infrastructure, energy, technology, agriculture, governance, public policy, the creative economy and other sectors with significant economic and public-interest implications.

Our journalism is built around a simple principle: information becomes more valuable when people understand its significance.

Why StakeBridge Exists

The volume of information available to businesses, investors and citizens has increased dramatically. Government releases, corporate announcements, economic data, market movements and policy decisions compete constantly for public attention.

Yet more information does not necessarily produce better understanding.

StakeBridge exists to provide the context between the event and its consequence.

We examine the numbers behind the announcement, the policy behind the decision, the business implications behind the corporate statement and the broader economic signal behind the immediate news.

Our role is not simply to tell readers what happened. It is to help them understand what changed and what that change means.

Our Relationship with StakeBridge IRPR

StakeBridge Media is part of the wider StakeBridge platform, which also includes StakeBridge IRPR Consulting, a strategic communications and investor relations practice.

The relationship provides StakeBridge Media with an institutional understanding of investor relations, corporate communications, financial markets, business strategy and stakeholder engagement.

However, StakeBridge Media operates according to its own editorial standards.

Editorial decisions are based on journalistic merit, evidence and public interest. Commercial relationships, consulting engagements or client interests do not determine whether a story is published, how it is reported or what conclusions are reached.

This separation is fundamental to the credibility of the StakeBridge Media brand.

Our Editorial Philosophy

Brand promise:  Bridging Data, Decisions and Meaning.

Editorial methodology:  Decision Memo Journalism.

Signature analytical device:  The Our Lens.

Decision Memo Journalism

StakeBridge Media practises what we call Decision Memo Journalism.

Traditional journalism answers the essential questions of who, what, when, where and how.

Our journalism goes a step further by asking what the development means for the people, businesses, institutions and markets affected by it.

We structure our reporting around six questions:

# Question What It Asks
1 News Trigger What made this news now?
2 Development What actually happened?
3 Numbers What do the numbers or data tell us?
4 Significance Why should our specialist audience care?
5 Next Move What should we watch next?
6 Our Lens What is the deeper signal behind the immediate news?

This is the editorial discipline that distinguishes StakeBridge from conventional event-driven news reporting.

The Our Lens

The Our Lens is our analytical layer.

It looks beyond the immediate announcement or event to identify the underlying economic, commercial, institutional or policy signal.

  • A government announcement may be about a policy today, but the Our Lens asks what it signals about fiscal policy, investment, regulation or economic direction.
  • A corporate result may show revenue growth, but the Lens examines the quality of that growth, the pressures behind the numbers and what the result could mean for the company’s next strategic move.
  • A market movement may tell us where prices went. The Our Lens asks why they moved, whether the movement is structural or temporary and what investors should watch next.

The Our Lens does not claim to predict the future. It provides a disciplined way of understanding the forces shaping it.

What We Believe

  • Journalism should be factual without being sterile, analytical without being inaccessible and critical without being partisan.
  • Numbers require context.
  • Policy deserves scrutiny beyond official statements.
  • Corporate announcements should be examined rather than simply reproduced.
  • The public deserves journalism that respects its intelligence.
  • The most useful journalism does not merely increase the amount of information available — it increases understanding.

Editorial Standards

StakeBridge Media is committed to journalism founded on accuracy, fairness, independence, accountability and public interest.

Accuracy  We make reasonable efforts to verify facts, figures, quotations and claims before publication. Economic and financial data receive particular scrutiny because inaccurate numbers can materially distort public understanding and business decisions.

Independence  Our journalism is independent of political, commercial and personal interests. No advertiser, sponsor, consulting client or commercial partner determines our editorial conclusions.

Fairness  We seek to represent relevant perspectives fairly and accurately. Where a person, company or institution faces substantive allegations or criticism, we will make reasonable efforts to obtain its response before publication.

Sources  We prioritise primary sources, official documents, credible research, attributable sources, datasets and direct evidence. Anonymous sources may be used where the information is genuinely in the public interest and confidentiality is necessary, subject to editorial judgement.

Conflicts of Interest  Journalists and editorial staff must disclose relevant conflicts of interest. No member of the editorial team should use a StakeBridge Media assignment to obtain an improper personal, financial or commercial advantage. Where a conflict could reasonably undermine confidence in a story, the assignment may be reassigned.

News and Opinion

News reporting, analysis, opinion and editorials are distinct forms of journalism.

  • News reports are grounded in verified facts and fair presentation.
  • Analysis interprets developments and examines their implications.
  • Opinion and editorials may take clear positions, but those positions must be identifiable as opinion and supported by reason and evidence.

Headlines  Our headlines must accurately reflect the substance of the story. We do not deliberately sensationalise, distort or exaggerate stories simply to generate clicks.

Corrections  We take responsibility for our journalism. When a material factual error is identified, we will correct it promptly and transparently. Corrections will not be used to conceal mistakes — they are part of our commitment to accountability.

Attribution and Plagiarism  We respect intellectual property and the work of other journalists and publications. We do not present another person’s reporting, analysis, photographs, data or intellectual work as our own. Information obtained from external sources will be appropriately attributed.

Artificial Intelligence  AI may be used as an editorial support tool for research, transcription, organisation, data analysis and other appropriate newsroom functions. AI-generated information is not accepted as fact simply because it has been generated by an AI system. Human journalists and editors remain responsible for verification, sourcing, editorial judgement and the final published work. We will not knowingly publish fabricated quotations, invented sources or unverified AI-generated claims.

Privacy  We respect the privacy and dignity of individuals. Private information will only be published where there is a legitimate and demonstrable public-interest justification.

Public Interest  Our ultimate responsibility is to the public’s right to reliable information. We will scrutinise governments, companies, institutions and influential individuals when the evidence and public interest warrant it. We will also hold ourselves to the same standard of accountability.
