A woman was taken into custody after allegedly undressing and engaging in indecent acts in front of passengers aboard an American Airlines flight from Baltimore to Miami. The incident, which occurred during American Airlines Flight 1779, prompted the crew to alert the cockpit and authorities, but the aircraft continued to its destination without diversion.

Flight 1779 departed Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday and arrived in Miami at about 11:23 p.m.

During the flight, a flight attendant reportedly informed the cockpit that a passenger in seat 9D had removed her clothing and was engaging in indecent conduct in view of other passengers.

An Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) message logged on September 12, 2026, documented the incident.

The message stated: “FA1 REPORTS THAT PAX IN SEAT 9DEF HAS TAKEN OFF ALL HER CLOTHES AND WAS SEEN BY OTHER PAX ************ IN AN INDECENT MANNER. FOM SAYS THIS MUST BE REPORTED TO IOC/OSM AND HAVE LAW ENFORCEMENT.”

When the aircraft landed, police were reportedly waiting at the gate and took the woman into custody. No further details about her identity or possible charges had been released at the time of the report.
