Samsung Electronics West Africa has launched the Galaxy A08, extending advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features, larger battery capacity and longer software support into its Galaxy A-Series at an accessible price point.
DEVELOPMENT
The Galaxy A08 is positioned as an everyday smartphone for users seeking stronger performance across streaming, browsing, social media, communication, multitasking and gaming.
The device combines a 6,000mAh battery with features including Circle to Search and Multiple AI Agents, bringing functions previously associated with higher-tier smartphones into the A-Series.

Samsung says the Galaxy A08 delivers up to 22 hours of video playback from its 6,000mAh battery.
The device carries IP64-rated protection against dust and water splashes and is equipped with an advanced application processor and upgraded memory.
Its software proposition is also significant. Samsung says the Galaxy A08 will receive up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
SIGNIFICANCE
The Galaxy A08 shifts the value proposition beyond hardware specifications by combining battery endurance, durability, AI functionality and extended software support.
Circle to Search allows users to search directly from content displayed on the screen, including products, places and images. Multiple AI Agents is designed to facilitate tasks across supported applications through interactions with Gemini and Perplexity.
The combination potentially gives Samsung a broader route to bring AI-enabled smartphone experiences to mainstream consumers.
NEXT MOVE
The Galaxy A08 is now available through Samsung Experience Stores, authorised dealers and partner retailers nationwide.
It comes in Dark Blue, Silver and Green variants. The key market question will be how consumers respond to the combination of AI features, battery capacity, durability and extended software support within the value segment.
